Sugarplum, Sapphire and Sage Heart 2 Heart Color Challenge

Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and an enjoyable holiday weekend!

Consider joining us for this week's Heart To Heart Challenge where you can create any artwork associated with our theme, while incorporating at least some product from Close to My Heart.

This week's challenge is a color challenge where you are asked to incorporate the Close To My Heart Colors of Sage, Sapphire, and Sugarplum (pictured in order below).

You can also choose to use any of the neutral colors, if necessary.

Here is the card I created for this challenge:

The patterned paper is from our Season Mix-Ins suite. It is how I chose to pull in the Sapphire color. Sugarplum Glitter Paper was the perfect addition, with a touch of Sage.
I LOVE this Hedge-hugs stamp set and yet, have only made a few pieces of artwork using it. I need to get busy! It has quite a few adorable images that are great for many things, like texturing your paper.

On the White Daisy background, behind the hedgehog, I stamped the heart image in Sugarplum. Without it, the White Daisy was a bit too much. Adding the texture softened it a bit and I feel, added a bit of a touch.

I added Liquid Glass to the heart for a little sparkle.

I realized, as I was writing this post, that I had also created this Shaker Card using the color combination. It was totally copied from our Holiday Expressions Idea Book. (The first person to read this post AND locate what page this card is featured in the Idea Book will be contacted for their mailing address to be sent a goodie. Will it be you?!)

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Be sure to check out the Heart 2 Heart Challenge and link up to the respective post. We've got challenges that have been taking place all month. I look forward to seeing yours there!

Have a blessed week!

"Seasonal Trees" - Stamp of the Month

This stamp set, with 23 images, allows for different paper-crafted themes. By changing out the stamps and ink colors, you can use it for any time of the year.

By placing a $50 order, you can get it for $5 in November. It is valued at $18.95 so a great item to add to your cart. You can read the details of the Stamp of the Month by clicking on the link.
For the cards I have made so far, I did use them for a Fall theme. This card (above) was inspired by my Consultant friend, Gina.

On this card I kept it "fall-ish" but couldn't resist adding in some snowfall.

By embossing the snowpile and snowflakes, I love how this looks like the beginning of a wintery scene. I've been wanting to create a Christmas-themed card and need to do so next week.

Don't miss out on purchasing this fantastic stamp set at a great price!

I have been making Christmas cards but decided to make a new one for this blog hop, trying out a pattern my friend had shared with me. I totally love how it came out!

Using the Oh What Fun - Cardmaking stamp set, I combined it with the 'Tis the Season paper pack. A little bit of paper-piecing and the

This is how the card opens, with the focal point on the front of the card hiding the stamped greeting on the inside. I love that!

Santa is a bit blinged up with the addition of the Clear Shimmer Brush.

Thank you so much for stopping by on this Friday night! Head over to Melinda's Blog to see what she has created for you, as well as the rest of the ladies participating in this hop.

Shake Things Up! - CTMH Technique Blog Hop

Welcome to this month's Technique Blog Hop where we are "Shaking Things Up" with our artwork. Participants can make shaker cards OR interpret the theme any way they see fit.

If you are coming from Jayma's Blog, you are on the right track. We are one big circle and you can keep following the links to see the rest of the artwork. A complete list of participants is provided at the bottom of this post, if you were to get lost along the way.

I am head over heels in love with Shaker Cards so that is the direction I decided to head with this Blog Hop. I just couldn't resist using the related products to create a Christmas card. I hope you love it as much as I do!
Using the Christmas Blessings exclusive stamp set, only available through the end of December, this card will be super fun for someone to receive in their mailbox next month.

The patterned paper, as well as the Zip Strip, is from the 'Tis of Season paper packet. Fern cardstock was used as the main background with "Rejoice" stamped in Candy Apple ink.
I love the ease of creating the Shaker card pieces using the related Thin Cuts. Gold Sequins, and hearts cut from Red Glitter Paper, make this card super fun!

With the Shaker Window & Confetti Thin Cuts, fun can be customized to fit any occasion.

Click on this brief video to show the Shaker Card in action.

Now head on over to Haley's Blog to see what she has up her sleeve to share with you. You are bound to find some fun artwork as you continue to make your way around the Hop.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

"Family Gathering" - Blog with Friends

Thank you for stopping by my blog today where I join a few blogging friends to share some fun topics around the theme of "Family Gathering".

Thanksgiving is right around the corner and with that brings many family gatherings and hopefully, some special moments. While the photos are great, scrapbooking those memories is what is most important.

I have created this layout to share with you; perfect for this occasion.

The fall colors and elements allow you to reflect on what you are most grateful for, with space to document the details of the photos you choose to include. I will be adding some photos to this layout once Thanksgiving arrives.

And...surely you can appreciate some handmade greeting cards you can sent to a family member who is on your mind this time of the year.

This card, with the colors used, is perfect for Fall. I especially love the three words used. I am thankful, grateful and blessed for many things in my life!

There are many needs for thank you cards. Do you sent them anymore? I know that effort has gone by the wayside for many, but I'm thankful I continue to send them out, providing some hand-created happy in someone's mailbox.

If you are interested in virtual scrapbook or card classes, contact me directly or post a comment. I would be happy to help you, whether you're an expert or novice.

Preserving your memories or making handmade cards is fun; let me show you how! Have questions? Let me know!

(The two individual card photos are not mine. I will be replacing them with my own when I return home later in the week. Those in the top image are those I created by hand.)

Spotlight On - Heart 2 Heart Challenge

Welcome to this week's Challenge, on the Heart 2 Heart Blog, where the theme is "Spotlight On".

Spotlight is a technique, and you can find it just by searching online, OR you can be creative and interpret it however you would like. When you do so, be sure to link up to the Challenge so we can see what fun creations you have to share. To participate in our challenge, please incorporate Close To My Heart products in your artwork.

This is my version of "spotlight":

I used the Bunches of Love stamp set and inked it with Archival Black, allowing me to add watercolor pencils and a Clear Shimmer Brush to color in the images. You will notice I stamped it on a sheet of White Daisy cardstock that was then layered on the Black cardstock. THAT allowed me to incorporate the technique. Keep reading...
To create the spotlighted area, I used a Circle Thin Cut to cut out the big floral image. Then, I used the Stitched Thin Cut to cut a slightly larger circle out of Pansy cardstock.

I adhered them to the card front, aligned with the image, by 3Ding the big flower. To add a bit of accent to the card, I used Liquid Glass on the center of the flower, added some Gold Glitter Gems and ribbon.

This was the first time I tried this technique and I really like it. Participating in this challenge was a great excuse to give it a shot. Why don't you do the same?!

I look forward to seeing your artwork on Heart 2 Heart! Wishing you a GREAT week!
