Heart 2 Heart Challenge: "Tickled Pink"

This week, with Heart to Heart, we are sharing artwork for the theme, "Tickled Pink". Consider linking up to us at our Heart 2 Heart Blog by incorporating Close To My Heart products into your artwork.

I had fun creating this simple card using the "Brushed" product line. With just a bit of patterned paper, and cardstock, it was easy to draw attention to the sentiment and floral image.

Silver Embellishing Thread was used as an accent and I did use an alcohol marker to color the White Dots. I couldn't resist using Shimmer Brush on the flower for a little glimmer.

I did use this "A Budding Friendship" stamp set. The base and shade stamps, which include some of these images, are super fun to use. And with our clear acrylic stamps and blocks, they are super easy to use!

Join us for our "Tickled Pink" challenge at Heart 2 Heart! We would love to have you! Make it a great week!

"Let It Shimmer" CTMH Technique Blog Hop

Welcome to this month's Technique Blog Hop where we use the Close To My Heart Shimmer Brushes to create artwork for the theme, "Let It Shimmer".

This hop is one big circle. You will find links to all participants at the bottom of this post, should you get lost along the way. If you are coming from Miss Carrie's Creations, you are on the right track.

I used the Shimmer Brush for a fun background on the focal point area of my card. All you need is a Shimmer Brush (I used Julep), stamping block, plastic wrap, and cardstock.

Start by placing a generous amount of Shimmer Brush on your block. Then, apply the plastic wrap to the block and then splotch it onto the cardstock repeatedly until you get the desired look. It does dry quickly.

I wanted somewhat of a rustic look for the camper, while still drawing attention to the CUTE polka dotted paper. While she splotches do shimmer, I had a difficult time reflecting that in the photo. It has a nice and subtle shimmer that I think looks great!
I used this Aurora Cardmaking Stamp Set, with coordinating Thin Cuts, for the adorable stamped images. I could not resist using the camper and loved not having to fussy-cut the images.

I even added a little bit of shimmer to the camper.

This is a fun and simple technique to use. While a bit messy, it's super easy to clean up when using our All-Purpose Mat

Thanks tons for joining us for this Blog Hop. Be sure to head on over the Brandi Robinson's blog to see what she has created to share with you. Wishing you a great week!

June Blog with Friends

Welcome to "Blog with Friends" where I am joined by four blogger friends who are sharing posts aligned with the theme of "Name Your Poison".

In quick-thought, the term "poison" reflects something not so good for me (LOL). I looked up originations of the phrase and found some variations, some which are very different. I am choosing to interpret it in way of a positive repeated "enjoyment" - or two (rather than using the term "addiction" LOL). That makes me feel better.

During these times, I am more mindful of what is "essential". I am eager to have a spa day and especially, am wanting to get my nails done. However, while I choose to still tread that carefully at this time, I figured a little papercrafting fix, aligned with my thoughts, would provide some quality therapy and I created this 6" x 8" scrapbook page! I absolutely love it and hope you do as well!

Check out ALL the fun images included in this exclusive stamp set called, "Spa Day". Aren't they adorable?! I could not resist creating with it!

It is a Hostess-exclusive stamp set which means you can get this one (or two other awesome stamp sets) when you host a party with me this month! (Contact me with your questions or you can find additional information by visiting this link.)

I wanted you to see the details of this page through this close-up view.

I did some "paper-piecing" (a technique) on her robe by stamping the girl image on both white cardstock, which I colored, and then again on the peach striped paper. I carefully cut out the pieces of the striped robe and then glued them on top of the base image which resulted in this. Don't you love it?!

Stickles were added to her head-band to make them shine and the Peach Shimmer Brush was added on top of "Spa day" (not well-reflected in the image, but it does have some sparkle to it). The accents in the bottom left-hand of the photo spot were colored in with Alcohol Markers.

I was really pleased with how this page turned out. It makes me smile when I see it!

If you would like to host a party, or want to learn more, let me know!

Now...it's time to go check out my friends' posts! You'll find their images and links below. Be sure to leave us some blog love when you do!

"Tags" Heart 2 Heart Challenge

Good morning and Happy Monday! Welcome to this week's Heart to Heart Challenge titled, "Tags".

You, too, can participate in this challenge - and others - by creating artwork that incorporates at least one Close To My Heart product. Just visit the Blog for complete details and then link up to us at the bottom of the respective challenge.

Of course the title "tags" screamed a must-use of the AWESOME and exclusive June Stamp of the Month and perfectly-matched Thin Cuts. I used patterned papers from the Mix-Ins Paper Pack - couldn't resist the polka patterns as you can see - and added in Gold Shimmer Trim

These are a must-have so don't let this month pass you by without considering them!

The sunflowers were colored with Watercolor Pencils and the leaves, with the Jade Green Alcohol Marker. While challenging to appreciate in the photo, I did add a knot tied with Black Velvet Ribbon

Consider joining up with us at Heart 2 Heart! We'd love to see your artwork!

Make it a great week!

Alright...so let's get to the FUN I created, shall we?

Here is the Father's Day card I created and I am very pleased with it. I will explain a bit about what I did so please keep reading.

Because I did not feel like I had pattern paper to coordinate with this theme, I decided to create some of my own. By using the shoes, stamped in Toffee ink, I randomly stamped them on my card front. Cool, right?

I pulled this color combination of Lagoon, Sapphire, Toffee and Linen from one of our How-To Books called, "Love of Color". It features artwork through balanced color combinations, usually many of which I would not think of on my own.

On the Sapphire cardstock, I distressed some lines I made while using an embossing tool. The shirt was colored with alcohol markers and the ink on the lid of a stamp pad, with a Waterbrush Pen. Some dimension and additional elements were added to finish the card.

I know you will have fun making you away around to see the other artwork so head on over to Heather's Blog to see what she has to share with you. I appreciate you stopping by and hope you'll leave a comment before you head over.

Wishing you a great start to an enjoyable weekend!

"Garden Tags" June Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to this month's Stamp of the Month Blog Hop featuring "Garden Tags". If you are coming from Stefani's Blog, you are on the right track. Should you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participants by clicking here

This beautiful stamp set comes with 8 gorgeous designs, several of which are perfect for a tag, and you can get it for $5 with a $50 purchase. (It is valued at $18.95.) To find out more details about our Stamp of the Month Special, follow this link and feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

I had an enjoyable time making this handmade card using this stamp set and kept it relatively simple. The patterned paper is from our Mix-Ins, providing a beautiful backdrop. I added some Peach cardstock and Gold Foil Paper for a quality accent.

For the tag, I decided to use a little bit of paper-piecing at the top, on Julep paper. To create this look, I first stamped the tag in Archival Black Ink and then stamped it again, with Julep ink, on Julep cardstock. I cut around the polka dotted topper and then glued it on top of the tag base.

Watercolor Pencils and a Watercolor Brush were used to color in the floral and leaf images.

To see some more artwork created with this exclusive stamp set, please head on over to Cat's Blog to see what she has to share with you. No doubt it's something work checking out!

Wishing you a Marvelous May!
