Got my mojo back!

The life of an elementary principal is a fast and furious one.  We have experienced a great start to the school year but I find myself working my days and nights away.  Things have slowed down a bit as I have begun to get into a routine.  My days are still long but at least I am intentional about taking time for me on the weekends.  Unfortunately, up to this point, that time has resulted in some much needed rest!  However, I had an itch to get back into creating and am happy to say I finished some projects this weekend and am still playing tonight (as I watch the Cowboys' game).

Tonight I decided to participate in the Monday Mojo Sketch Challenge which is pictured below.  You can check out their website by clicking here.  We are allowed to put our own little twist on it by incorporating various kinds of supplies.
This is what I created today.  I used some of Close To My Heart's retired paper packet, Flirty.  The floral B&T is a fun and cheery pattern and will be perfect for a co-worker who celebrates her birthday this week.  I added Antiqued Gold Mini Medley Accents, Cocoa Ribbon, and Hemp Baker's Twine to put on the finishing touches.  (All products are from Close To My Heart.)
Thanks for stopping by.  Watch for more artwork to come over the next few days.  Make it a great week!

God Bless,

Love Blooms, Thank You Card

This morning I reported back to work but my mojo has not ended.  I will just have to take time to create in the evenings and during the weekends rather than all day for several days.  It was such an enjoyable and relaxing break.  I am grateful.

I thought this card was fitting to share today as we have experienced some beautiful, spring-like weather over the past couple of days.  Now, if we could only get some rain to raise the lake!

I used some patterned paper from Flirty, a retired paper pack, and the rose stamp set called Love Blooms.

Keeping this card pretty simple, I colored in the flower and leaf images using our markers and used a little 3-d Foam Tape to make it have some dimension.  A Clear Sparkle was perfect for the center of the rose and the Silver Shimmer Trim was great for separating the two patterned papers.

Have an awesome week!

Thankful for a restful and enjoyable Spring Break,

Right up my alley!

You have heard me say (write) many times that Simple + Cute = RIGHT UP MY ALLEY!  I love being able to create something handmade that did not take me all day and night to complete.

I pulled this card idea from our new publication, Make It From Your Heart, and used the colorful, new paper packet, Flirty (pictured below).

The focal point for this stamp set was an image pulled from our Cricut Artiste Collection.  I cut the die-cut the perfect size to stamp the coordinating image.  When you purchase the Artiste Collection you get a lot for your money, to include 3-coordinating and exclusive stamp sets.

Without wanting to add too much to this card and make it too busy, I chose to use some of our Just Blooms Floret Paper Shapes (pictured below) - flower and leaves - and a bigger brad.  For the finishing touch I used some of our retired ribbon that was included in a kit some time ago.
I had fun experimenting with this paper packet and card pattern and am creating more this weekend!

Lovin' Flirty,
