Create THREE Layouts in 35 MINUTES!

Don't think you are a scrapbooker? Think it takes too much time or you don't know where to start? If you can relate this is the perfect post for YOU!

If you love scrapbooking, and even enjoy creating from scratch, you will also find joy in what I have to share because sometimes, just like me, a quick, easy and beautiful layout is totally what I need to feel accomplished.
We have a fabulous product line, Cut Above, offered in both cards and layouts, and today I am highlighting this beautiful one called "This is Me".

What I love most about this line is that the artwork creations come together so quickly. Yes, you read the title of this post correctly. It only took me 35 minutes, start to finish, to complete these three, 12" x 12", and gorgeous layouts. HUGE, right?!

If you click on the images, you'll see an enlarged view (and I share information below on how you can see another sample). This layout (above) is designed for you to reflect on some prepared topics (located in each of the circles) such as: Feeling, Loving, Waiting For, Something I Do Well. And that paper and accents...isn't it gorgeous?! It coordinates with Chelsea Gardens.
This layout is unique and something that can be totally fun and highly valued as it's designed for others to respond to prompts about YOU! Questions like, "What was your first impression of me", are asked with a place provided for their answers and photos! Another prompt is "Pick 3 words to describe me". I don't know about you but I'm excited and a little scared to ask these of someone else. LOL But, how fun will it be to have other people's perspective about YOU? And, you could elect to ask various people in your family, friends, etc. to get a variety of responses.

Who would you ask? If you have children, wouldn't it be fun to ask them these questions now and in a few years? That, in itself, would be worth preserving.
And last, but definitely not least, look at this beautiful layout commemorating a best day (or maybe best dayS). There are some pre-printed elements, others that are added on top, and I used some good ol' baby powder to give some fun dimension to a select number of the floral elements. Baby Powder?! Yes, I did say baby powder. :) Keep reading...
There are many fun elements in this kit. Here's a quick close-up snapshot of a few of them. Many of the elements included are gold foil and then you can see some of the journaling spaces and floral images (bottom right) that are also part of the simple kit.
Another awesome thing about our Cut Above Kits is they require few products outside of what is contained in the kit. These are five items I suggest you have in your possession to create the layouts as I did. All are pretty self-explainable, however, I can assume you are wondering what the baby powder is used for, right?! LOL I enjoy making some of the embellishments dimensional and place Thin 3-D Foam Tape on the back of those images. (It's one of my most favorite products!) When I want to add some dimension to our stickers, and want to remove the "sticky" from the back, I sprinkle the baby powder and eliminate the "sticky".
To better understand this concept, check out this video where I used the technique on a card. (I also share some additional information with you.)
This Cut Above Layout Kit, "This Is Me", contains materials to make three coordinating two-page scrapbook layouts, including pre-printed base pages, die-cuts, stickers, photo placeholders, and instructions, PLUS four top load Memory Prectors. WHAT A KIT AT A PRICE (only $24.95)!

In fact, if you click on this link, you'll see some thumbnails at the bottom where you can view sample layouts with photos and journaling. (Click on them again for an even better view.) I will work to get photos and journaling placed on mine and will share so when that's the case.

If you have any questions about this kit, others in this line, or ANY Close To My Heart products, I'd love to hear from you! (Post in the comments or you can email me directly.)

Enjoy the rest of your week!

CTMH Technique Blog Hop - Crazy About Cardstock

Thank you for joining us for this month's Technique Hop, "Crazy About Cardstock", where we are featuring Close To My Heart's cardstock. Did you know that the cardstock released on August 1st is now duo-toned?! That's right! That means you get twice as many options for the same amount of money. You can see the various shades in all four color palettes.

And my favorite...Adventure

If you are coming here from Annemarie's Blog, you are on the right track. You can find a list of participants at the bottom of this post, if you were to get lost along the way.

I hosted a retreat this past weekend, with a birthday theme, and decided to use primarily cardstock in the design of this layout.
Click on image for enlarged view

The layout was kept simple to serve as a "goodie" for all who attended, allowing them to preserve their memories from the weekend.
The area where my name is located, served as the name tent for their creative spots. It was fun to allow a space for it on their layout, identifying the date and location of the retreat.
This new stamp set, "Eat Cake & Celebrate", was incorporated through the stamping of the title, the banner and the cake image. ShinHan markers were used to colored in the images. The party hat came from the stamp set, "Sweet Birthday".

I know you are bound to find creative ways the ladies have used the cardstock in the artwork creations so continue to make your way around the hop. We'd love it if you did! Head on over to Haley's Blog and be sure to leave a comment before you do. I always enjoy hearing from you!

Make it a great day!

Shine, Little Dreamer, Shine!

I have enjoyed creating layouts and cards using the "Little Dreamer" Workshop Your Way products. They have been super fun and while I was highly addicted to unicorns as a child, and they are not my favorite now, I still am completely in LOVE with this product line.
This fun layout doesn't have to include photos of a little girl's birthday party. I am actually going to use it for me, reflecting on me, my life and my purpose on this earth; the reasons I should "shine".
Here is a close-up of the fun embellishments added on this layout. Aren't they cute?! There are glitter items included in the Complements that coordinate perfectly. Of course, the fact that purple bling is incorporated makes this girl that much happier!

What kind of photos do you have that would go perfectly on this layout?
The Workshop Your Way includes:
1 - Little Dreamer paper packet (X7219B)
1 - Little Dreamer Complements (X7219C)
4 - cardstock sheets (1 Thistle, 3 White Daisy)
1 - Little Dreamer glitter gems (Z332)
1 - white & gold ribbon (Z3189)
You can get some quality appreciation for the Complements but the photos simply don't do them justice. These two areas shown on the bottom are GLITTER embellishments - white and purple. They are gorgeous!
The paper patterns are so cheerful and versatile enough to be used for fun and inspirational photos. I have used the patterns for various creations already...with more to come.

I pray you are doing great on this Tuesday morning. Make time to shine!

Heart 2 Heart Challenge - "Everyday Life"

Welcome to this week's Heart 2 Heart Challenge where we are featuring artwork aligned with the theme, "Everyday Life". You, too, can link up to the challenge and be sure to use Close To My Heart products in your creation.

I held a scrapbook retreat for National Scrapbooking Day and we made sure to celebrate Cinco de Mayo over the weekend. The retreat theme was "It's Time to Fiesta" and that's exactly what we did!
Click on image to increase size.
One of the goodies I provided everyone on National Scrapbooking Day were the items needed to create this layout, perfect for preserving some of our memories. I used patterned paper from the "Little Dreamer" paper pack; the one with polka dots. I love how festive and happy it is!

Here are close-ups of each page:
I haven't journaled yet, but will. I am still deciding exactly which photos I want to include and may add some Flip Flaps to get a few more on the page.

I was joined by 15 papercrafters on Saturday and had the pleasure of spending the entire weekend with 11 ladies (one is not shown).
One of the papercrafters was my Mom. It was a pleasure having her in for a few days from southwest New Mexico.
We truly had a blast...as I'm sure the photo conveys! There was plenty of crafting going on and don't forget the laughs and delicious food!

These are some of the products used on the layout:

I look forward to you sharing your CTMH artwork at Heart 2 Heart.

Fundamentals Creative Collections Blog Hop

Welcome to our Blog Hop where we are featuring the fabulous...the phenomenal...Fundamentals Creative Collections that includes a great paper line and fabulous embellishments! In fact, there is so much goodness in this Collection that you will definitely want to check out this link to see what I am talking about.

A variety of those products were incorporated into the layout I am showcasing below. Here are a few of my favorite:

If you are coming from Priscilla's Blog, you are on the right track. You can find a complete list of participants on this blog, should you get lost along the way.

This "be happy" layout was designed by the Art Department Staff of Close To My Heart. It is one of the several layouts we made at our Teambuilders' Conference last month. The creative incorporation of the paper and Complements came together in a nice way, drawing quality attention to the title. (Photos? I have been traveling so much for work that I have not had the opportunity to get some printed but I will do so and showcase them completed in the next few days.) Let's look at each page in greater detail...
Various embellishments are either glittered with white or gold or contain gold foil accents. The Combinations of papers used really make for a chic and trendy look.

The same is true on the right page of the layout. I love that different tones and colors were used on these layouts that I may have not considered on my own. They really blend together well and make for an awesome look.

Please head over to Melinda's Blog, after leaving a comment, if you would like. I appreciate you stopping by and hope you have been inspired! Enjoy the end to your week!
