"It's Faux" Technique Blog Hop

Welcome to our Blog Hop where we are using Close To My Heart items to create artwork that creats a "faux" look with the products. It will be fun to see what the participants have to share with all of us!

If you are coming from Tamara's Blog, you are on the right track. You can find a complete list of participants at the bottom of this post, if you were to get lost along the way.

For my faux technique, I decided to use a couple of CTMH Thin Cuts (aka dies) that have a stitched look. I love how they totally appear to have been used with a sewing machine.

The Stiched Brackets Thin Cuts is one of my favorite and newer sets. The sentiment is from a fun stamp set called, "Hey Hi Hello".  (I did create the four leaf clover using a retired Hearts Thin Cuts and just glued four of them together.)

I love the simplicity of this card, and the great sentiment! I hope you do too!

Technique: Add a Border - Heart 2 Heart Challenge

This week's Heart 2 Heart Challenge is titled "Add a Border". You, too, can participate as you interpret the theme, while incorporating at least one Close To My Heart product in your creation. Simply link up to us on the Blog. That's all that's required and it's fun to see everyone's creativity!

I kept this card simple, following a similar card I received years ago from a friend. The border images are coming from the February 2021 Stamp of the Month, "Doodled Borders".

I pulled a few images and stamped them in different colors.

The sentiment comes from the "Make It Happen" stamp set. I love the motivational images contained in it; such a great variety.

I was creating this while chatting virtually with some papercrafting friends. Sharon suggested I "splatter-fy" it (that's a term, right?) and I did, using the Lagoon ink pad and the waterbrush pen. I love the addition to the design.

Some Silver Embellishing Thread and Black Bursts were the final finishing touches.

Join the creative fun by heading over to the Heart 2 Heart Blog and participate in our February challenges. We'd love to have you!

Make it a GREAT week!

"Blossom" Bring Back My Pack Blog Hop

Welcome to our Blog Hop where we are featuring the "Blossom" Collection, a popular one from a few years ago, and it has returned better than ever!

This is an image of the gorgeous Blossom Collection you can purchase as a bundle, OR you can choose to purchase items separately. The color combination are beautiful and make me ready for Spring, not to mention the awesome floral stickers and stamp sets!

If you are coming from Wendy's Blog, you are on the right track. You can find a complete list of participants by clicking here.

I decided to create a card incorporating most of the colors from this Collection: Green Apple, Smoothie, Nectarine, Lagoon, Lemonade and Charcoal. This combination is definitely spring-like.

Incorporating a variety of the stamp images from the "Cherished Blossoms" stamp set, I added some dimension using Thin 3-D Foam Tape. Of course that was made super easy because of the coordinating Thin Cuts.

Here is a close-up of the stamped images. I absolutely love the sentiment in this set. This greeting card can be used for a variety of occasions.

"Doodled Borders" Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Happy February! It's always fun to start a new month because we get to welcome in an awesome new Stamp of the Month! If you are coming from Wendy's Blog, you are on the right track. You can find a complete list of participants here

This month's set is called "Doodled Borders", and as you can see, it contains 36 AWESOME stamp images that are fun and whimsical! Through this Blog Hop, you'll get to see fun ways that it is used.

If you aren't familiar with our Stamp of the Month Special, you can get this stamp set, valued at $18.95, FREE or for $5, with a qualifying order. You can find details about the special by clicking here

Love is definitely in the air this month, and I ended up making this "lovely" card using various images from the set.

Unsure what I was going to create, I wanted to incorporate the Mini Envelope Thin Cut. I couldn't resist tossing in some of the stamp images from the set and then realized I had some stickers from the Perfect Match Special. Plus, that adorable patterned paper is totally cute for the envelope, don't you think?

While there's a lot of stuff going on with the card, I do feel it conveys as reflected in the sentiment: "love joy happiness". I did use some Silver Foil paper, although not easily reflected in the photo.

Now head on over to Cat's Blog, to see what she has created to share with you. I hope you have a blessed and enjoy February!

"All You Need is Love" Heart 2 Heart Blog Hop

Welcome to the first Heart to Heart Challenge of February 2021 called, "All You Need is Love". Did you know you can create artwork of your own, aligned with the theme - interpreted however you see fit - and link up to the Challenge? We love seeing everyone's perspective on the theme. Be sure to use at least one Close To My Heart product on your design.

I am excited to share this card I made, with you! I actually created it quite a few weeks ago, proud that I came up with a creative idea and it worked! Don't you love when that happens? LOL
One of the first stamp sets I bought, from the January/February Idea Book, is this one called "Howdy Neighbor". And, of course, I had to have the Thin Cuts. Who wants to fussy-cut when they don't have to?! LOL

I random stamped the stitched heart image on the Kraft cardstock, with Toffee ink. I love the subtle background it created. The "sending you" sentiment was stamped directly on the card front with Black ink.

The patterned paper, which I absolutely love, is from the Perfect Match Special. I couldn't resist adding a Small Bow, cut out of Candy Apple cardstock, and used a piece of Flamingo Shimmer Trim.

To create the fun "hugs" image...

I wanted to use the Flamingo Shimmer Trim but felt it clashed a bit. All of a suddent it dawned on me to try this technique and so I gave it a try.

I first stamped the Hugs image, with Flamingo Ink, on cardstock. I took a red marker and made the thick line you can see, using a ruler. I then made a couple of the black lines using a marker, and the thinnest one using a Journaling Pen.

Then, I used the Thin Cuts to cut it out and adhered it, with Thin 3-D Foam Tape, to the front of the card. I feel that, by doing so, it gave it a nice look for the front of this card.

I hope my idea serves as some inspiration for you!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Consider leaving a comment and then be sure to link up to us at Heart 2 Heart
