Stampers with an Attitude Showcase Picture My Life

This month, members of the Stampers with an Attitude team (associated with Close To My Heart), are highlighting one of our fabulous product lines, Picture My Life!  It is truly phenomenal and probably my favorite right now since it offers so much versatility that goes way beyond scrapbooking.  However, for this Blog Hop, I did decide to use it as created (but don't be afraid to step outside of the box as I am sure you will seen done on other posts).
If you are coming from Catherine's Blog, you are on the right track.  She is a start of the hop and a complete listing of blog participants are located on her blog as well as at the end of this post.

I decided to use the Chalk It Up Picture My Life Scrapbooking Program for my layouts today to commemorate the 2014-2015 when I served as Principal of two elementary campuses in southwest New Mexico.  I still have plenty of pages to create but am thrilled with some of the first few pages.
This is a sample of some of the cards contained in the Chalk It Up program.
You will definitely want to click on the photo for an enlarged view but aren't these class photos just precious?!  I am including the student's names on the back of the card for future reference.  It will be fun to see what these little kiddos turn out to be in several years.
FULL LAYOUT - Click on the image for an enlarged view.
Because all of the class photos were given to me in small sizes - 3 1/2" x 5" - I used some of the 4" x 6" cards as mattes for the photos (and also added some additional mattes in some cases).  I did not want to detract from the photos but instead, get them out of the plastic bag they were in so I can review them from time to time and remember the fun memories of last school year.
LEFT PAGE - Click on the image for an enlarged view.
You can take the cards and simply slide them inside the pocket, adding in your photos and journaling, or you can be a little creative as I have done on some cards.  Here, I used an exacto knife to trim around this makeshift sticky note, allowing my photo to slide underneath it.  Cool, right?!

On this page I did include some other cards and techniques just to add to the layout.

This "Reach for the Stars" banner was located on the center of this 4" x 6" card I used as a matte.  I just cut it out of the card, with an exacto knife, and put it as a 3-D banner on the corner of the photo.  Gotta love being able to use your cards for more than just one thing!

These two sayings, "Keep your face towards the SUN and..." "...the SHADOWS of life will fall behind you" were parts of another card that I trimmed and added with some 3-D foam tape.

I hope you love my layout as much I do!  I totally had fun creating it and cannot wait to add in more photos.  This was just Pre-K and 2nd grade!  I have to do all the way through 5th!  WHEW!  Thankfully, Picture My Life will make that Faster. Simpler. Easier.  :)

Stampers with an Attitude - Chalk It Up Blog Hop

Thank you for joining 14 of us, from the "Stampers with an Attitude" Team with Close To My Heart.  We are showcasing "Chalk It Up", with an attitude of course!

If you are coming from Melinda's Blog you are on the right track!  In fact, she starts this hop so continue to move on through the fabulous artwork showcasing this paper packet.  You will find a list of participants on her blog.  We are thrilled you have joined us!

I LOVE altering composition books for two reasons:  1) They are inexpensive items that can be altered for fabulous gifts! 2) They are purposeful!  Who doesn't need a cute notebook?!  I have a notebook for this...a notebook for that and yes, they are all different and designed specifically for their purpose.  :)  Yes, I have an addiction to notebooks but this one is a little bit different.  It's MINIATURE!  It is not as tiny as one that would fit in your purse (that have been on the market for quite some time).  This one measures 5 1/2" x 8" and was just $0.97 in the school section at Wal-Mart.  (My local WM does not carry them but one that I visited did.  I need more of them!) You can tell the size of it based upon the length of the pen.
I used a 3" x 4" card that comes in the "Chalk It Up" Picture My Life kit as the focal point.  The cute, retro strip going behind the star comes from the Zip Strip of the patterned paper from the Chalk It Up paper packet.  I added some black cardstock and scalloped it on one edge to place behind the decorative Zip Strip.  I added Liquid Glass to the star, from the Complements, for a glossy look.  (That is difficult to tell from the photo.)
We do have a campaign going on this month called, "Picture Perfection", that is focused around Picture My Life so be sure to check that out in case you may be interested.

I would love to know what you think of this li'l notepad before you head over to Sheila's blog and see what she has up her sleeve!  Thanks for stopping by!

Happy hoppin'!

Artiste Treat Box

I conducted a Close To My Heart Gathering today where the Hostess invited several of her friends to join the fun!  I highlighted our AWESOME products and then demonstrated a project they were able to duplicate.  The hostess benefits from the FUN we had and from the purchases made by her guests!  Right now it looks like she will have at least $60 in Hostess credit to spend AND she will get an item of her choice at 1/2 off!  Yeah her!
Click on image to enlarge or click on link at bottom of post.
We made this CUTE box I cut from our exclusive, Artiste Cricut Cartridge.  It was cut "Fit-to-Page" which ended up measuring 8 1/2".  It's a good size box, 2 3/4" cube when folded; plenty of space for that fun goodie (aka chocolate) but not too big to break the bank.  LOL
We used the "You Mean the World to Me" and "Happy Birds" stamp sets for the front of the box. Chalk It Up was used for the polka dot pattern paper and a little Aqua Dot was perfect for the flower center.
By the way, this box was showcased on page 98 in the NEW Annual Inspirations (aka Idea Book).  Look how cute they are created from the Brushed paper packet.
I absolutely LOVE sharing Close To My Heart with others!  If you would like to earn FREE products by hosting a Gathering (aka Party), I would love to help you do so.  In this day of technology, you can even have a party long distance and invite acquaintances from all over the country who can purchase from your event and contribute to your hostess rewards.  Contact me with any questions or to get yours scheduled!  Visit my website to see what fun products you can earn for FREE!

Off to create some more!  Happy Saturday!

CTMH Paper Focus Blog Hop

This month, members of my team are featuring ONE of our BRAND NEW Paper Packets called, "Chalk It Up".  It is one of my favorite, and may have a lot to do with being an educator, but even non-educators will love it!  If you are coming from Joy's Blog, you are on the right track!  A list of participants is provided at the bottom of this post.
Isn't this owl cute?!  So yeah...you totally know I fell in love with this stamp set, "Teacher Appreciation", at first sight.  Every person who has children in school needs this!  It is perfect for creating that little "thank you"...for making a difference in YOUR child's life.  (Love that sentiment on here.)

This polka dot pattern in this paper packet is FUN!  I added Black and Lagoon cardstock on the focal point and sentiment, cutting a dovetail (can you tell I love the look dovetails offer to artwork)?  And of course...some Red Shimmer Trim!  Hi...my name is Melissa Robinson and I'm addicted to Shimmer Trim!  LOL It has just the right amount of sparkly for EVERY project!   Some coloring of the owl, with some of our NEW Shin Han Markers, and a little Black Enamel Star and I was done!  This card makes me giggle a bit.  It's THAT cute!
I added an Aqua Dot to the tassel and two, itty bitty, Black Epoxy Bubbles for his eyes.  :)

THANK YOU for stopping by and please head over to Marianne's Blog to see what she has in store for you, but don't do so before leaving a comment!  I'd love to hear from you!

Happy hoppin'!

Back to School!

The start of school is right around the corner.  I have enjoyed a wonderful summer although you notice I did not call it a "break".  I had two days of summer vacation, but I was able to schedule in a few trips along the way and enjoyed every minute of them!  Now...it is time to get back to reality!

Tomorrow marks the unveiling of a NEW Idea Book which is debuting as, "Annual Inspirations"!  It is a phenomenal book/resource full of superb products and fun artwork!  As a Consultant we are privy to new product at least a month in advance of them going "live" to the public.  One of the perks for attending Convention is getting our hands on and dirty with new products.
This is one of the layouts we were taught at Convention.  It was fun to create and has some nice embellishments to give it visual appeal.  It is made with the "Chalk It Up" paper pack which you will see me use and showcase quite a bit through the year!  LOL  Despite it being titled "Chalk It Up, it does provide versatility and you will see that is the case in some upcoming artwork.

I await the rain in my neck of the woods - perfect for preparing for a team meeting on Saturday.  :)  Be sure to check back tomorrow for some TOO FUN artwork with a new stamp set and paper packet!  See you then!
