I am sharing several pieces of artwork as it's easy to fall in love with all things in this Collection. 

I decided to go with a tropical Christmas for this card as we have family members in Florida and it would be perfect for them. Truth be told, I wouldn't mind celebrating Christmas in Florida (LOL) for an excuse to scrapbook some photos with this beautiful paper. 

I used the smaller flamingo from the card workshop but then fussy cut the Santa's hat from the larger flamingo and then just glued it on top. For my card design, I found the larger flamingo was a bit too big when I wanted to use the patterned paper and show enough of it.

I enjoyed adding a few of the Acrylic Shapes to use as embellishments on this card. Did you know they are now thinner than they used to be? I love that CTMH changed that, allowing us to use them on cards and other mailed items.

For this card, I decided to follow a design from Katy Taylor (who is a great friend and on my team 💜) from last year. I though the gorgeous Wild Berry Loose Sequins would be gorgeous with the color combination and that star patterned paper is one of my favorites because of the fun and bright color! To create this kind of a Shaker Card, I used the 3" x 4" Flip Flaps. I did secure it to the card base so it's not interactive, but instead provides a fun and transparent background, for the sequins to shine through.

And...I couldn't end this blog post without including these cards I made from the workshop directions that are FREE and downloadable. Just visit a respective workshop kit - Cards or Scrapbook Layouts (Tropical or Christmas) - and you will find the link to download it.

For these two cards, I loved the use of the striped or polka dot pattern towards the top and the different ways the ornaments were decorated - stamped and cut from paper. 

Besides the color combination being awesome and bright on these cards, I also love how we used the White Gel Pen to create accents on the ornaments. These cards are just super happy and I'm totally fine with working outside of the traditional Christmas colors.

"Pocket Power!" Technique Blog Hop

Welcome to this month's Technique Blog Hop where we use Close To My Heart products to create artwork centered around the theme of "Pocket Power"! Participants can choose to interpret that theme however they see fit and I'm sure we'll see a variety of interpretations!

Using the "Craft On" Scrapbooking Workshop Your Way, I created this third layout as designed in the workshop. But...

I did make a slight adjustment on the right side of the page. I moved the items slightly to the right and sliced down the middle, at 6" - after I assembled the layout. That allows me to do so where it didn't impact the page design. THEN, I placed each 6" x 12" piece inside one of our Flip Flaps and made it interactive by sticking them up to of a standard 12" x 12" page protector. Keep reading...

When I open each flip flap - like doors - this is what is exposed; two 6" x 12" panels and a 12" x 12" page. Isn't that awesome?! I can include more photos, journaling and whatever else I desire.

Purposeful Plastic - CTMH Technique Blog Hop

Welcome to this month's Technique Blog Hop where we are using Close To My Heart products to highlight the theme, "Purposeful Plastic". Participants can use our various pocket pages, Flip Flaps, or any other creative incorporation of plastic we offer. LOL I'm excited to see what they have come up with to share with you!

The artwork I have to share with you today is pretty straight forward. I incorporated some of our 4" x 4" Flip Flaps into this Story Starter Album by Stacy Julian. (Some of the photos aren't the best because of the glare. Please forgive me and overlook that.)

If you aren't familiar with Flip Flaps, they are self-adhesive, interactive plastic pieces that can be attached to your artwork. They come in various sizes and can be used to include additional photos, journaling, etc. With this photo above, you can see how it is slightly open.

When it is fully open, I am able to include another photo on the back side of the Flip Flap, allowing space in this album other than just the obvious. Cool, huh?

I actually have finished this album - well, almost. I need to get some photos reprinted since my Selphy printer chopped off people on the sides and I wanted a couple of more that I didn't have. I will get it finished soon and share all of the pages.
