Retiring Stamp Sets Blog Hop (Get 'em before they're gone!)

Welcome to our Blog Hop where we are highlighting some products that are soon-to-retire. It will be fun to see what each participant has chosen as their focus.

It is really hard to believe it's almost time to say goodbye to some of my favorite products that I have enjoyed creating with this last year and/or last few months. On July 31, 2017, many of our products will retire as others take their place. That means that if there is anything on your wish list, you will want to get it now as some products are only available until then or while supplies last. There are two ways you can see what is soon to be gone: visit my website or download a list.

If you are coming from Vickie's Blog, you are on the right track. You can find a complete list of participants here.
I was having a difficult time debating on what card I wanted to highlight and as soon as I thought of this one...I knew it was the perfect choice. I have used it many times recently, especially because of the used sentiment, and will be sad to see it go. Besides the wonderful images, I love that it represents Operation Smile, and that $5 from the stamp set purchase goes towards this worthy organization.
This card was kept pretty simple with the striped pattern paper coming from Little Dreamer. I used it to create a colorful dress for the girl. Of course, some purple heart bling was necessary to finish it off.
You can see the added dimension provided on this card, even as I made the heart 3-D.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Leave a comment and let me know which is your favorite stamp set. Head over to Melinda's Blog to see which stamp set she is highlighting.

Heart 2 Heart Challenge: Pretty Pockets

This week's Heart 2 Heart Challenge is titled, "Pretty Pockets", and you can interpret it however you see fit. Once you create a piece of artwork aligned with it, connect with us at Heart 2 Heart and be sure to use Close To My Heart products in your creation.

You might ask yourself, "Where is there a pocket reference to this piece of artwork?" Well...lemme explain. :)
This is a 4" x 3" POCKET CARD, inspired by pocket scrapbooking. We have been asked to create some for a card swap at Convention (in Salt Lake City in just two weeks - ACK!) and I figured I could follow that idea and create something that could serve that intended purpose or in this case, generate a design that can be easily placed on the front of a card base. BAM! :)
You can see how I did just that. How simple, right?! I have got to keep this design process in mind for future greeting cards. It doesn't take much to design a 4" x 3" piece. Too fun!

I did paper-piece the dress and heart with papers from Prickly Pear. You have seen me use this sentiment many times, with more to come, from the True Love stamp set. Did you know it retires July 31, 2017 or until it is available? Get it before it's gone! It's perfect for any greeting card.

Be sure to check out the other shared artwork at Heart 2 Heart and JOIN THE FUN! Have a blessed week.

Heart 2 Heart Color Challenge: Emerald, Blossom, Lemon

Welcome to this week's Heart 2 Heart Challenge focused on three colors: Emerald, Blossom and Lemon. I totally love these colors because they are so fun and vibrant.

We would love for you to link up with us. Be sure to incorporate Close To My Heart products into your artwork when you do.

I kept this card relatively simple although I did incorporate some simple techniques.
The Blossom (pink) piece was embossed with the Simple Chevron Embossing Folder. The two dovetail banners and balloons were cut from the Prickly Pear paper pack. I did paper piece the balloons which allowed me to have a fun patter on them. Shin Han Markers were used to color in the little boy.
Of course I had to finish off the card with a little sparkly. :) Three, Emerald Prickly Pear Sequins were added for that finishing touch.
This is the stamp set I used, "True Love". It is our current Operation Smile stamp set and I love it! $5 from every one of these stamp sets purchased is donated to this worthy organization that provides facial surgery for children born with cleft palate.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today and let me hear from you if would like to leave a comment. I always enjoy hearing from you.

Wishing you a wonderful day!

Operation Smile - True Love Blog Hop

We are thrilled you are joining our Blog Hop where we are featuring this adorable stamp set, "True Love". It is our Operation Smile stamp set which means a portion of the proceeds, from this stamp set, is donated to this organization that puts a smile on the faces of children with cleft palate.

If you are coming from Melinda's Blog, you are on the right track. You can find a list of participants on her blog.
I love the sentiment, "This card is a paper hug". It's perfect for what we do, don't you think? I paper-pieced the li'l girl's dress and the heart using the Swan Lake paper pack. The two times I have created a card with her I have incorporated the google eyes included with the Jeepers Creepers Assortment. I think it just makes her even cuter. LOL What do you think?

Head on over to Darlys' Blog to see what she has created with this cute stamp set.

Thanks for joining us and happy hoppin'!

CTMH Paper Blog Hop - Jeepers Creepers

Welcome to our Blog Hop where we are featuring artwork incorporating the Jeepers Creepers paper pack that was newly released on September 1st. I love the ability to use the product line beyond Halloween.
If you are coming from Debi's Blog, you are on the right track. You can find a complete list of participants at the bottom of this post.

Here is the card I made and...I must draw attention to those eyes! Aren't they too fun?! They are included in the Jeepers Creepers Assortment, which also includes the enamel stars.
I love the colors in this paper pack. The cute li'l girl and the sentiment come from the adorable Operation Smile stamp set, "True Love". (When you buy this stamp set, $7 will donated to Operation Smile, a non-profit organization that provides surgeries to repair cleft lips and palates in children.)

Thank you for stopping by my blog. Head on over to Tonya's Blog to see what she created with this fun paper pack.

Happy hoppin!
Melissa
