"You Are My Sunshine" - Heart 2 Heart Challenge

Welcome to this week's Heart to Heart Challenge, "You Are My Sunshine". Create and link up any artwork related to the theme and be sure to incorporate some Close To My Heart product in your creation.

Using the You Are Here Cricut Collection, exclusive to Close To My Heart, I created this card using various images. Because our paper has a white core, simply tearing the cardstock created a look of "sand". I love how simple it is.

I actually may be using this as a focal point for our vacation photos.

Here is a link to the Design Space file.

I hope you are enjoying a wonderful summer!

"Make the Cut!" Technique Blog Hop

For this month's Technique Blog Hop, incorporating Close To My Heart product, our theme is "Make the Cut!". Participants were asked to include diecuts or images from our Thin Cuts (CTMH's version of 'dies') or Cricut Collections. I'm excited to see what they have designed and hope you are too!

If you are coming from Carrie's Blog, you are on the right track. You will find a complete list of participants at the bottom of this post.
To create this greeting card, I decided to use the "You Are Here" Digital Cricut Collection. Whether you are traveling abroad, taking a road trip, or enjoying a relaxing staycation, this Cricut Collection is sure to have everything you need to document your journey. It comes with the three coordinating stamp sets shown above.

Crazy enough, I haven't created with it much but I am going to incorporate it into my scrapbooking layouts, documenting some fun trips I have taken over the past year! I can't wait to do more with it!

This fun "hello summer" card was created using all images from the collection. Then, I took some Toffee cardstock and tore it, exposing the white core, to resemble sand.

After designing it, this card was super quick to cut and assemble. (Keep reading! I provided the Design Space file for you to use!) It definitely makes me want to be at the beach. What about you?!

Here is a closer look at the details. I made sure to cut the castle a reasonable size so the Cricut blade didn't yell at me. I think I succeeded, by placing the images in various locations on the card, to add dimension and perspective.

Did you know we have a variety of exclusive Cricut Collections from which to choose? Click HERE to visit them in greater detail and please contact me if you have questions.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Consider leaving me a comment before heading to Katy's Blog to see what she has created to share with you! I don't doubt it, and the other artwork, is worth you doing so!

Happy hoppin'!

I am so excited to share with you my creation, a little goodie perfect for any time of the year!
Using the You Are Here coffee cup, I paper-pieced this adorable treat together, forming a box for a small goodie. (I had a similar pattern from years ago - not sure where I obtained it from - and decided to recreate it.)

Papers used: Cardstock - Kraft, Cranberry, White Daisy; Patterned Paper - from Beary Christmas.
Here is a view of its dimension. (It is slightly less than 3" tall.) The bag inside contains some chocolate - a perfect treat, don't you agree?! I love creating little gift items for people and hope you find inspiration from this.
  • Design space link for the coffee cup: https://design.cricut.com/#/design/76152785 (You have to own the cartridge to access the link.)
  • Cut two of each piece for the front and back coffee cup.
Here is the image for cutting the base. A better image can be obtained by clicking here.
Cardstock measures 3" x 5 1/4". Along the 5 1/4" side, score at 1", 2 1/8", 3 1/8", and 5 3/8". On the 3" side, score at 1". Get a solid crease on each score line. Cut on the red lines. Form a box, overlapping the first and last panel. Form the box bottom. Add the coffee mugs on the front and bag. Fill with a tasty treat.

I love comments on my blog. Consider leaving one and then please head over to Melinda's Blog to view her artwork creation using this Cricut Collection.

Happy hoppin'!
