All that Glitters Technique Showcase

Join me today as I showcase some artwork using Close To My Heart's top-quality Glitter Paper! If you have never tried our Glitter Paper, why don't you add it to your next order? Unlike other brands, ours is cardstock-thick and it doesn't leave glitter everywhere. It is fun to create with and cuts perfectly in the Cricut or die-cut machines.

I enjoyed making this simple birthday card that became glittery with some Glitter Paper balloons out of Silver, Sapphire, and Wild Berry. I drew some string and then added an Acrylic Heart that I colored using our alcohol markers

If you would like to see additional artwork made using Glitter Paper and/or Shimmer Trim, I invite you to visit this Facebook Group where you can view inspiring creations.

Wishing you a great week!

Layered Flowers Technique Blog Hop

Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop where we are featuring artwork showcasing "Layered Flowers". With such a broad topic, it's going to be fun to see what everyone has created to share.

If you are coming from Darlys's Blog, you are on the right track. You can find a complete list of participants at the bottom of this post.

For my card, I was immediately drawn to using the Layered Flowers Thin Cuts. Incorporating the Wild Berry Glitter Paper and cardstock, and some additional embellishments, it is screaming Spring.

I included some Silver Glitter Gems, White Dots, and the Wild Berry Flower Sequins, adding dimension with some Foam Tape.

Head over to see what Katy has created to share with you, on her blog

Happy hoppin'!

Embellish It! Heart 2 Heart Challenge

Good morning and happy Monday! I wish you a great start to your morning and week!

Thank you for joining me/us for the Heart 2 Heart Challenge, "Embellish It!" It's the first one for December and we hope that you'll join the creative fun and share your artwork with us. Please be sure to use at least one Close To My Heart product in your creation.

I decided to glitz up this handmade giftcard by adding some simple but fun embellishments, mostly hand-created. I stamped on patterned paper (pink ornament and present), did tone-on-tone stamping (green present), used the White Gel Pen, Gold Glitter Paper and included some Liquid Pearls. I love how it all came together for this finished result. It's super festive!

Believe it, or not, all stamp images used on this front of this card are from this "Deck the Palms" stamp set, a special that continues through the end of this month. It doesn't have to be used for a tropical theme at all, if you choose not to use the flamingo.

This is how the inside of the gift card holder looks. Isn't it fun (and simple)?! I love that giving a gift card doesn't have to be considered "without thought", if there is intention and love for the recipient. In fact, I enjoy being able to redeem gift cards and having packaging like this would make it extra special, don't you think?!

(NOTE: I did host a Santa's Workshop this weekend, virtually, where I showcased a variety of artwork projects, dimensions to recreate them, techniques and so much more! If you don't currently have a CTMH Maker, contact me via email - mlisrobinson@gmail.com - and I'm happy to invite you to join the fun!)

Thank you for joining us this week at Heart 2 Heart. Be sure to link up to this challenge, and future challenges, as we celebrate and share our love for papercrafting!

Make it a great day!

"Make It Shine" Technique Blog Hop

Welcome to this month's Technique Blog Hop where we are using Close To My Heart products to create artwork aligned with the theme, "Make It Shine".

If you are coming from Darlys's Blog, you are on the right track. Should you get lost along the way, you will find a complete list of participants at the bottom of this post.

With this month's theme, who can resist incorporating Glitter Paper to make your artwork shine? I couldn't. AND, it was a must I use the beautiful, and NEW, Wild Berry color. I absolutely love it!

To add some flair, I added Silver and Flamingo Shimmer Trim, as well as some Wild Berry Sequins. This card design is from Volume 5 of Make It From You Heart. I love its simplicity and couldn't resist adding in this embossed sentiment from "All Star Birthday". (It's wonderful for a Shaker card.)

Katy is sure to wow you with her creation. Head over to Scrappin' Katy and then keep making your way around the Blog Hoopto view what all participants have to share with you. We appreciate you doing so. Please consider leaving a comment as we love to hear from you.

National Scrapbooking Month Blog Hop

Welcome to this Blog Hop where we are showcasing the exclusive and GORGEOUS products that are part of the National Scrapbooking Month Special, "You Are Special".

If you are coming from Melinda's Blog, you are on the right track. You can find a list of participants by clicking here.

The collection includes a unique paper collection, coordinating stickers and cardstock - all which contain rose gold accents. There is also an exclusive stamp set, with coordinating Thin Cuts, AND the awesome (and large) butterfly Thin Cuts! You can buy the products individually or SAVE 30% when you buy them all as a Bundle

I couldn't resist incorporating some of the rose gold accented cardstock, from this collection. Not wanting to detract away from it, I did keep the design of this card simple.

The Blush Shimmer Ribbon, included in the Bundle, is a perfect accent for coordinating with the rose gold patterns on the paper.

I did use Sapphire cardstock, and Sapphire Glitter Paper, for the small butterfly Thin Cuts. It made for a great accent on the card which I had to incorporate.

Consider leaving a comment, to let me know what you think, before you head over to Wendy's Blog. Then, continue making your way around the Blog Hop to see all of the artwork creations.

Happy hoppin'!

"Out with the Old, In with the New" - Heart 2 Heart Challenge

Welcome to the first Heart 2 Heart Challenge of 2021! I hope these first few days of the year have been great and indicate how this new year will continue for you and your family.

This year, at Heart 2 Heart, the Challenges will be posted on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month, allowing you to focus on two theme. You have until the end of the month to participate. We invite you to join in the creative fun as often as you can.

REMEMBER: Because this is a challenge focused on incorporating Close To My Heart product, be sure to use at least one CTMH product item in your creation. (If you don't already have a Consultant from whom to purchase the products, I would love to support you! You can shop on my website.)

To get things started in the new year, I'm excited to share two greeting cards I made for this theme of "Out with the Old, In with the New". Here they are!

I decided to use the same card pattern, from Make It From Your Heart - Volume 4, with two different sets of pattern paper, one old and one new! This pattern is great, especially for leftover papers, since it only requires strips.

This birthday card was made using the Serenity paper pack. While the Serenity Collection has officially retired, you might be thrilled to know it still remains on my website! The blues and florals of this collection make it one of my favorites and I want it to stay!

To create the accent on this card, I fussy cut one of the flowers from the patterned paper. Of course, you can tell, I couldn't resist using Glitter Paper for my creations. This card incorporates both Blue Belle and Sapphire Glitter Paper. I think they are currently my two favorite colors.

The sentiment I used is from this "Sentiments by Melissa Esplin" stamp set. It's one of my favorite go-tos since it has a beautiful script font for various occasions. (How many times have I used the word 'favorite' in this post? LOL Can you tell I'm kind of in love with quite a few CTMH products?!)

As for the "new", I created this card with the "Happiness Lives Here" paper packet and the January Stamp of the Month (you can view a post about it here). Outside of using the Blue Belle Glitter Paper again, I couldn't resist tossing in an accent of Gold.

I wish you all the best this year, with Heart 2 Heart, and look forward to you participating in our Challenges in 2021! Be sure to link up to the respective Blog posts and show us your creations!

Have a great first full week of the new year!

Heart Happy Blog Hop

Welcome to this month's Blog Hop where we are featuring the beautiful Heart Happy Special that contains beautiful colors and perfect images for Valentine's Day or other special occasions.
You can find details about it, and the coordinating products, by clicking here. These products are only available through the end of February.

If you are coming from Barbara's Blog, you are on the right track. You can find a complete list of participants by clicking here

I decided to keep my card a little simple, while truly loving all of the images in the stamp set.
To create the red glitter heart, I stamped the image on a scratch piece of paper, traced it on the BACK of the Glitter Paper, and cut it out.

Red Pearls, a soon-to-be-gone item, were used as an additional element.

Gotta love when a card is attractive and didn't take a lot of time to create.

Head on over to Cat's Blog to see what she has created with this fun product! I am looking forward to creating much more!

Sugarplum, Sapphire and Sage Heart 2 Heart Color Challenge

Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and an enjoyable holiday weekend!

Consider joining us for this week's Heart To Heart Challenge where you can create any artwork associated with our theme, while incorporating at least some product from Close to My Heart.

This week's challenge is a color challenge where you are asked to incorporate the Close To My Heart Colors of Sage, Sapphire, and Sugarplum (pictured in order below).

You can also choose to use any of the neutral colors, if necessary.

Here is the card I created for this challenge:

The patterned paper is from our Season Mix-Ins suite. It is how I chose to pull in the Sapphire color. Sugarplum Glitter Paper was the perfect addition, with a touch of Sage.
I LOVE this Hedge-hugs stamp set and yet, have only made a few pieces of artwork using it. I need to get busy! It has quite a few adorable images that are great for many things, like texturing your paper.

On the White Daisy background, behind the hedgehog, I stamped the heart image in Sugarplum. Without it, the White Daisy was a bit too much. Adding the texture softened it a bit and I feel, added a bit of a touch.

I added Liquid Glass to the heart for a little sparkle.

I realized, as I was writing this post, that I had also created this Shaker Card using the color combination. It was totally copied from our Holiday Expressions Idea Book. (The first person to read this post AND locate what page this card is featured in the Idea Book will be contacted for their mailing address to be sent a goodie. Will it be you?!)

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Be sure to check out the Heart 2 Heart Challenge and link up to the respective post. We've got challenges that have been taking place all month. I look forward to seeing yours there!

Have a blessed week!

Glitter & Glam - Heart 2 Heart Challenge

I'm thrilled to be participating in this week's Heart 2 Heart Challenge entitled "Glitter & Glam". You, too, can participate by simply creating something papercrafting related, while incorporating CTMH products.

I cut a piece of the Red Glitter Paper, 4" x 5 1/4", for the background of the card. Then, using the Circle Thin Cuts, I cut out the two outter circles, exposing the Glitter Paper. The Clover (green) ornament is from the Mistletoe Wishes Cardmaking Workshop Your Way. It contains an exclusive stamp set.

The silver glitter part, for hanging the ornaments. is a stamped image as well. I stamped it on the BACK of the Silver Glitter Paper and then cut it out.

The "believe in magic" sentiment is from the exclusive Holiday Sparkle card kit that is only available through the end of this month.

I hope you believe in magic! Have a blessed day!

CTMH Technique Blog Hop - In Love with Vellum

Thank you so much for joining me and some fellow Close To My Heart Consultants for "In Love with Vellum". While CTMH wasn't carrying vellum for several years, did you know it's back?! It is and it's of a great quality - a thicker texture - which makes it easy to work with while including it in your artwork. In fact, you are bound to find some fun ways in which we have used it so be sure to continue through this hop.

If you are coming from Danielle's Blog, you are on the right track. You can find a complete list of participants at the bottom of this post, if you were to get lost along the way.
There are many different things to do with vellum although I kept my use of it pretty simple for this card. I used the Archival Black ink pad - the ink we carry that is perfect for vellum because it dries completely with no opportunity to smear once it does. That's a huge plus as not all inks do the same.
Because I did not want any adhesive to show through the back of my stamped image, but instead wanted the pattered paper to be exposed, I put a little bit where the "extra" banner is stamped and behind the piece of faux washi tape made from a small piece of White Glitter Paper. Doing so was enough to hold the vellum in place. For a few finishing touches, I added a heart out of Bashful Glitter Paper, a few Gold Glitter Gems, and some White Twine.
Not only am I in love with vellum, I also love the stamp I used on it, "Notes of Inspiration". It's pretty inspirational, if you ask me!

Consider leaving a comment before you had over to Haley's Blog to see what she and the other Blog Hop participants have created to share with you. We appreciate you stopping by!

Enjoy the rest of your week!
