Thank you for joining us for this Blog Hop where we are featuring "Watercolors". Close To My Heart offers both Watercolor Paints and Watercolor Pencils so it will be fun to see the projects we have to share with you using either of them. I am excited to see them myself!
If you are coming from Catherine's Blog you are on the right track. You can find a complete list of participants by clicking here, if you were to get lost along the way. Now...onto my artwork...
Yes...if you know me you know I absolutely fell in love with the "Play Hard - Cheer" stamp set when I saw it but not being involved with cheerleading right now I hesitated to get it. But I finally did and decided to use my Watercolor Paints with it! I figured it would be a great stamp set for my team members and for anyone else I want to cheer on. Ooh...ooh...and I added the beautiful Blue Glitter Paper!
I did two different techniques with the Watercolor Paints. The first was to get my paintbrush pretty wet (our paintbrushes are awesome and are of high-quality), swirled it in the blue paint and then "flicked" the ink onto the card front.
To "flick" the ink I use my index finger of my left hand (I am right-handed) and put it out straight and then holding the paintbrush with my right hand, I "tap" it over the finger and let the splatter fall where it may. I like the results of "flicking".
For the background behind the cheerleader, I wet the Watercolor Paper with water, and then "dabbed" on the paint, in a "pouncing" motion. Then I "flicked" on top of it. I did heat seat the watercolor background so it was completely dry before flicking the paint and it results as seen above.I did paper piece the cheerleader and megaphone, added some Silver Foil Tape, and decided I needed to throw in a little more color so did so by coloring the sentiment and Bling with the Peony Purple ShinHan Marker.
Thanks for stopping by. I would love for you to leave a comment before you head on over to Wendy's Blog to see her creation using this product.
